Marketing and Communications Coordinator – part-time.

This is a part-time position that will be a combination of M-F office hours, 20-32 hours per week. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Helping implement communications & marketing projects and strategies

  • Managing daily administrative tasks to ensure marketing runs smoothly including maintain calendars and appointments

  • Provide administrative support to programs and internal teams including tracking of projects and helping to resolve issues related to the projects.

  • Prepare and create presentations and reports

  • Manages the first-time donor experience; reviews weekly reports, writes thank you cards/emails and updates the database.

  • Assist in running reports from the database

  • Oversees digital and print communications for large-scale events, including but not limited to: banners, signs, booklets, brochures, emails, invitations, and thank you cards. Liaison between SOS and external sources for print needs, including gathering paper samples and quotes. Oversees the printing process from start to finish to ensure quality and accuracy of end-products. Verifies project invoices are accurate.

  • Implements publications process of monthly newsletter, including - generating mailing list reports, evaluating lists for accuracy, proofreading publications for accuracy, preparing print communication materials (BREs), and ensuring timely delivery.

  • Oversees the Marketing & Communication Dept. materials inventory and works directly with external sources to order/reorder, as needed.

  • Directs contracted and external sources key to the completion of marketing projects (e.g. Spanish translators) and ensures timely completion.


Requirements

  • An excellent communicator with strong attention to detail, as well as having administrative and email marketing experience,

  • Understanding of basic communications tools and digital media strategies

  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Google Docs and Google Sheets

  • Familiarity with design software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign) and content management systems (e.g. Mailchimp)

  • Strong attention to detail and organization

  • Works well independently and as part of a team.

  • This position is exposed to sensitive financial information. Integrity, honesty, and confidentiality are required.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce for Nonprofits is a plus
