Development Officer

Overview:
SOS International is seeking a skilled and passionate Development Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our fundraising efforts to support our mission and make a positive impact in our community. As a Development Officer, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our donors, volunteers, and community partners to build relationships, seek funding opportunities, and promote our organization’s work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the organization’s mission, goals, and programs.
- Cultivate relationships and steward current and potential donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporations.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including grant opportunities, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and appeals.
- Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling marketing materials and donor communications.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donor information and donations using our donor management system.
- Ensure compliance with relevant fundraising regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as marketing, communications, or nonprofit management.
- Proven track record of meeting fundraising targets and building successful fundraising campaigns.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in fundraising or donor relations, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with donor management systems and database management.
- Passion for the mission and values of our organization.
- High level of self-motivation, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
