Dangerous External Threats
While dangerous external threats cannot be stopped, intervention can take place to provide safety and security for an at-risk child. Through empowering local care networks to respond to vulnerable children, there is hope.
There is an estimated 21 million people trafficked around the world. 73% of all girls trapped inside a brothel must be rescued if they are ever to reach the outside world again. You can help:
Rescue and provide care for 6 girls for a month - $1800.00
Rescue and provide care for 6 girls for a month - $900.00
Rescue and support 3 girls for a month - $450.00
Rescue and provide support for one girl for one month - $150.00
When disaster strikes, the most vulnerable victims are children. For example, the 2015 earthquake in Nepal displaced 1.7 million children. SOS sends support to areas hit by disaster in an effort to protect children and their families from the vulnerabilities associated with displacement. Help build strong response capabilities during natural disasters to limit risk to children:
ORPHAN CARE / FOSTER CARE
In the US alone, there are roughly 400,000 children in the foster care system. Of that number, approximately 100,000 are waiting to be adopted. SOS empowers Local Care Networks to respond to those in the Foster Care system.
