Rhea* was born in a red-light district to a trafficking victim. Statistically speaking, Rhea was supposed to spend her whole life in a red-light district, only ever knowing captivity, and die at an early age. But Rhea’s story is different. Rhea’s story is one touched by hope. We met Rhea when she was a little girl. Through our outreaches, she began staying at our safe house and going to school.
When she first came to our rescue home, she received rehabilitation and found healing and wholeness. After Rhea discovered freedom and life outside of the red-light district, she brought her mom and brother into a life of freedom as well.
Over time, as Rhea grew, she found a love for education and went on to get her Bachelors and Masters of Social Work.
Rhea tasted captivity, but she has also experienced freedom. She will never forget the faces of her friends who grew up in the red-light district with her. She knows that, if they are alive, they are still trapped and forced into the same slavery their mothers were.
A desire to bring hope to girls just like her, born into a life of slavery, was one of the driving forces that lead her to pursue a career in social work.
Through the support of friends like you, Rhea embarked on a Holy mandate: to bring the hope she received into a new red-light district, one filled with little, young girls just like her. She started a school in a red-light district where girls had never dreamed of an education. These students are now receiving an education, nutritious meals and hope for a future of freedom.
The school is a beacon of light in a dark place and the launching point for greater freedom initiatives within this community.
Rhea’s story is still being written. It is intertwined with your story and the story of hope. There is one thing we know for sure; Freedom is coming.
When you join us, you unleash the power of multiplication. You empower hope to be brought into dark, devastating places. One-by-one you help set girls free! We believe together we can put a stop to human trafficking.
