Role Overview
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the strategic recruitment and management
of a diverse volunteer base to support outreach initiatives throughout the metroplex. This role serves
as a vital liaison between SOS International and its church, business, and volunteer partners. The
primary objective is to facilitate seamless communication and ensure that all service opportunities
align with our mission while providing a meaningful and impactful experience for every volunteer.
Key Responsibilities
● Volunteer Recruitment and Management: Proactively identify, recruit, and onboard
volunteers to support various community-focused outreach programs. Ensure that all
outreaches have the required volunteers, materials, and communication needed to be
successful.
● Volunteer Placement: Analyze volunteer skills and interests to ensure optimal placement
within service projects.
● Quality Assurance & Feedback: Conduct comprehensive follow-ups with participants
post-outreach to evaluate the volunteer experience and maintain high engagement
standards.
● Impact Storytelling: Curate and document testimonials from volunteers and partners that
illustrate the tangible impact of SOS initiatives and the Gifts In Kind program.
● Data Management: Accurately record and track volunteer hours, experiences, and
engagement metrics for internal reporting and recognition.
● Events: Provide logistical support for special events and large-scale volunteer projects in
coordination with the leadership team.
● Social Media: Manage the ongoing social media presence by creating compelling content
and providing timely responses to community inquiries and notifications.
Qualifications & Requirements
● Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, relevant work experience,
and/or experience serving within a church or ministry environment.
● Communication Mastery: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are
mandatory for effective stakeholder engagement.
● Project Management: Prior experience in event planning, outreach coordination, or
volunteer management is highly preferred.
● Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office) and the
ability to manage professional social media accounts.
Position Details
● Classification: Part-time
● Commitment: 20 hours per week
● Reporting: Reports directly to the Community Outreach Lead.
