We recently sat down with our founder, Dwayne, to talk more about expanding rescue projects and establishing community. This is what he said:

“The power of community in rescue and rehabilitation is best understood when you watch it surround a broken girl. You take a girl who has been devalued to the point that she believes she is worth only what someone will pay to use her body. Place that girl in a community of people who have a Judeo-Christian worldview; A community that believes every person was created for a purpose, that every person is uniquely gifted, that every person was created with a destiny; a community who believes Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.”

Community is not a one-time event; It is a long repetition of showing up and engaging.

Inside this community, over time, that girl begins to experience real love and she begins to believe these same things. As she heals, she becomes a functioning part of the community, providing hope and love to new girls as they join and begin the same transition she has experienced. The real value of community is the sum of its parts over time. Community is not a one-time event, it is a long repetition of showing up and engaging.”

Thank you for being part of a community that surrounds these girls to bring freedom!
